DUCJF2016 - DAY THIRTY

A very good stitching day.

First: Today's start - Souvenir of Paris by Blackbird Designs (Joyeux Noel book) - I have a Paris theme going now.

Second:  I am in the home stretch of Tis the Season by Blackbird Designs (also from the Joyeux Noel book).  All I need to do is finish the wording and add a few more snowflakes.

Third:   I made my 2nd finish of the year - Black Crow by Maria Warmke of The Stitcherhood.

I also spent part of my day reminiscing while I cleaned out the dining room hutch.

These 2 plates were hand painted by my Aunt Ute who passed away a few years ago.  She was a great lady and I miss her.

My paternal grandmother sent me this beautiful Mocha set from Germany when I was a little girl.  I am lucky my mother stored it away safely until I was old enough to appreciate it.  I still have the complete set.   My cousin received a similar set but only has a few pieces left.

This teacup (along with the tiered dainty tray) was one of 2 teacups I received at one my wedding showers.  The shower was originally planned as teacup shower but it was changed by MIL who knew I wasn't a china cup girl so I only received the two.  I cherish them both nonetheless.

These miniature Nutcrackers represent several characters from one of my favourite Christmas stories - A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

These 2 Nutcracker ornaments were gifted to me by MIL (who passed away last year).  She is another great lady who is sorely missed.   She enable my Nutcracker obsession more than anyone else.

I fell in love with  this dinnerware set while Christmas shopping with my brother.   He passed this information on when I got married and I received settings for 12 plus a number of serving pieces as wedding gifts.

My mother and I choose this as my wedding cake topper after attending a wedding show together.

While vacationing in Cancun, Mexico several years ago with my DH and my brother, the two of them decided to have a very Macho moment drinking each other under the table.  I don't remember what was in these glasses but I do recall a lot more than 2 being emptied.  My DH still remembers the hangover.

Hope you didn't mind joining me down memory lane.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!

Thank you for visiting!!!!
