Yep!!!!!! I am still around!!!!!

Here I was doing really good with the blogging the first 2 weeks of the New Year and then I go and disappear for the next 2 1/2 weeks. Unfortunately, my DH and I came down with a doozy of a cold. We were off of work for a whole week. We went back to work last week but by the end of the day we were so wiped we didn't feel like doing anything once we got home. We are still not 100% but it is better than it was.

I did manage to finish one of my Crazy January Challenge starts - Winter Sheep © 2010 Little House Needleworks.

I also made another start. (I admit it. I have bad case of "startitis". Why else would I have joined the "Crazy Janaury Challenge.) It is the "Castles in the Air" SAL by Papillion Creations. I finally got around to ordering the silk threads from Hand Dyed Fibers at the beginning of January and once they arrived I couldn't wait to start using them. I am stitching this on 36ct Flax Edinborough Linen. This is my progress so far.

While I was home sick I didn't feel like stitching much (or anything else for that matter) but I did occasionally pull out the "Unicorn" SAL by Dyan Allaire (Kustom Krafts).

I just love how all the different blues work together in this pattern.

Well, it is getting past my bedtime. I will be back tomorrow with my TUSAL update.

Happy stitching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An Update with Picures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finallly!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it has been a week since my last post but I finally have some pictures to post. First, are the TUSAL pictures from May and June. I know I am a tad late!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will see mostly pinks at the top as the only stitching I have done in the past 2 months is on KK Naptime Dragon.

The following is the new SAL from Helga Mandl. It is in 2 parts and I actually managed to finish the first part over the weekend. The 2nd part will be released this Friday.

The next picture is of my progress on the Kustom Kraft Naptime Dragon as of last week. As I mentioned earlier I am still on part 1. I love the colours in this piece and I can't wait to start on the dragon.

The final picture is one of the dishcloths I knitted in May. It is called Sea Waves. I will post a picture of the other one tomorrow. (I forgot to scan it when I did the others.)

I can report now that after over a month Julia finally received the LHN Strawberry House chart she won. She would have received it a lot sooner if I hadn't forgotten to write her street name on the envelope. Ooops!!!!!!!!!!!!! She contacted me after a couple of weeks to say that it hadn't arrived which really surprized me since most things I mail to the States takes only week. A couple of days later the package showed up in my mailbox. I spent about 30 minutes complaining to my DH about the postal service before I realized that I made the mistake. I put back in the mail the next da y with the correct address and now she has it. I hope she enjoys stitching it as much as I did.

Happy Stitching/Knitting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I finally finished the "First Robin of Spring". I really love the colours in this one. I am thinking about making it into a pillow. I just need to find the right fabric for the backing.

I decided that this year was going to be the year that I finish off some of my many UFOs. I haven't decided which one I am going to do next but I have pulled the following three out to pick from.

Prairie West Sampler:

Hope You all had a Good Easter

Hope you all had a great weekend. I can't complain! Besides being able to work on my favourite hobbies - stitching, knitting and reading (finished The Last Kashmiri Rose today - great book!!!) my DH and I went to Assiniboine Park yesterday for a nice long walk with the dog and today we had Easter dinner with my mom and my brother.

I got a little more done on the "First Robin of Spring":

I finished the April heart:

This was the most recent KAL at Rachel's Knitting Room (sorry I couldn't get a good picture) Update 06/04/08 - New picture - Love to Knit With My Friends:

This was the January Mystery SAL at Whoduknit. I only joined the group in February but I loved the look of scarf so I decided to stitch it.

I am currently watching an episode of the Vicar of Dibley with my DH (we love those shows) and then I am off to sleep.

Good night all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally!!!!

I haven't checked in for a couple of weeks. I went to our District Winter Camp (Girl Guides) last weekend and it has taken me most of the week to recuperate. I know my mother would say I am getting too old for this but I really enjoy this kind of stuff and I am glad I went. Didn't get much stitching or knitting done last weekend or during the week but I more than made up for it this weekend.

I started another Pamela Kellogg Mystery SAL the "First Robin of Spring". Thank goodness I read Juggy Bug's Blog on Thursday or I don't know when I would have remember that I had signed up for this SAL. LOL The first part came on out last Saturday (while I was at camp) and the second part was released yesterday. Here is a progress pic of Part I:

I am also participating in another SAL at Needleworkers' Haven. These are Freebies available from Lune d'Automne designed by Gencat. We are doing 1 heart a month. Since I started a bit late I am doing a bit of catch up. I have finished March and Febuary and I am currently working on January. I am making these into magnets.

A few more stitches have been added to the "Mediterranean Terrace" and I hoping to have it finished by the end of the month. I also working on another mitten shaped ornament.

With my knitting, I am still working on the 2 scarves I started last month and another dishcloth. The Mystery KAL (from Whoduknit) seems to be on hold for the time being. The person supplying the clues to the pattern has been MIA for the past couple of weeks. We are starting a mini Mystery KAL on Monday. The book we are currently reading The Last Kashmiri Rose by Barbara Cleverly. I'm enjoying it so far. I found the the romance in last month's novel -Birthright (Nora Roberts)- overshadowed the mystery but otherwise it was a good read.

We started a RR at NH this month. It is attempt for 4 of us to have a tree skirt by Christmas this year. My is a Nutcracker skirt (surprise, surprise!!!!!!). Here are pics of what it will look like when finished and how much I have done on it.

Till next time. Happy Stitching(or Knitting)!!!!!!!!!
