DUCJFC2016 - DAY THIRTY - TWO

For the month of February I will be working on a few of the New Starts/WIPs from last year's DUCJC2015.

Today I pulled out Something Wicked Mystery Sampler by SamSarah Design Studio Inc.

Here is where I was when I first started it in 2015.

This is how far I got in 2015.

And here is where I am at as of tonight.  Not a lot, but a little progress.

Take care and happy stitching.

Thank you for visiting!!!!!

Day 18: DUCJC2015

This is going to be a quick check-in as it is getting close to my bedtime.

As I mentioned yesterday, I decided to work on an UFO from 2013 Little House Needleworks Mystery Sampler - Song of the Season  today.   I really love LHN designs and I am looking forward to seeing this one completed. Below are before and after pictures of what I stitched today.

I also took time to finish 2 Christmas ornaments and 1 Halloween ornament.

Dear Santa © 2014 Country Cottage Needleworks

Halloween Tree designed by Michelle Lash of Brittercup Designs (2011 JCS Halloween Collection)

Winter Holiday Nutcracker Ballet - Prince © 2008 Mill Hill

That is it for now, take care and happy stitching.

Thank you for visiting.

More progress on BRD's Blue Jeans and Daisies

Well, the long weekend was somewhat production. I made a bit of a dent on Blue Jeans and Daisies. I hoping by this upcoming Monday, I will have at least most of Part I done.

It is going rather slowly I think because I decided to use 35ct fabric instead of my preferred 28ct., but I am enjoying it and I like how it has turned out so far.

I received word that the 2nd Part for the LHN's Song of Seasons is the mail so I really want to get hustling on this one.

By the way I have signed up for the next mystery sampler - Lizzie Kate's Holly & Hearts.  Has anybody else?  I just can't seem to resist a "mystery".

I have done quite a bit of reading lately (I always seem to read more in the summer than in the winter.) I am trying to read/listen to 90 books this year. I am currently at 63.

This week I finished:
Dragonfly in Amber - Diana Gabaldon (Audiobook)
A Game of Thrones - George R. R. Martin (ebook)
A Wrongful Death - Kate Wilhelm (Audiobook)

and I am currently listening to:
Bleak House - Charles Dickens (Audiobook)
Killing Floor - Lee Child (Audiobook)

and reading:
Vanish - Tess Gerritsen (ebook)
The Quick and the Thread - Amanda Lee (paperback)

Well that is my update for this week. I will be back next week. Take care and happy stitching.

Thank you for visiting!!!!!!!!

Dallas, anyone?

While stitching on BBD's "It's Berry Time" this evening I decided to watch the new Dallas series and found myself actually enjoying it.  I was a fan when the original series aired but my interest did start to wane near the end of its run.  It was kind of fun to see Bobby and old JR (what is up with his eyebrows) at it again.  (The younger generation aren't quite in their league yet.)

I seem to be back into my stitching groove again.  I finished my stitched piece for the Patriotic Exchange hosted by Stitched With Love Exchanges and for the past two evenings I worked on "It's Berry Time".   Here is my progress as of an hour ago.

Before I sign off I thought I would mention that The Victoria Sampler is discontinuing the Hearts of Canada ( and the Hearts of America) series.  They currently have the charts on sale.

Finally, is anyone else going to do the LK mystery sampler?  I am! I have to do at least one "mystery" a year and this one sounds very interesting.

Good Night and happy stitching!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally a Long Weekend and Time to Stitch

We had a 3-day weekend so we spent it out at our trailer. I love it out there. No phones (even cellphones), no TV (except for playing DVDs in the evening) and very little housework so I have lots of time to stitch and read.

Now that the postal strike/lockout is over, I finally received the 1st installment of the With Thy Needle and Thread "Birds of A Feather" Mystery Sampler. It arrived (along with the fabric and threads) on Thursday - just in time. This is my progress as of yesterday.

Three weeks ago I finally started the first chart I ever purchased by LHN - Home of a Needleworker. I have been wanting to stitch this for ages but for some reason I never got around to it until now. The following is my progress as of yesterday also. I am stitching it on 36ct Flax Edinburgh Linen with a combination of GAST and WDW threads. I just ordered Home of a Needleworker Too yesterday. I thinking of putting one up in my house and the other up in the trailer.

Well that is it for now. I want to get some stitching done before hitting the sack.

Happy Stitching!!!!
