Catch Up Time Again!!!!

I was suppose to post pics of my finishes and my purchases for the month of April last weekend but alas life got in the way. I have time now to catch-up.

My 3 finishes for April that used to earn some SFS spending bucks are the following:

Bee Happy Featuring Holmsey Hare © G. French (Stitchers Anon) I finished it in April but only got around to mounting it on a keepsake box today.

The following are some of my purchases I made last month including the 3 charts are ordered out of fear that the may disappear before I got around to buying them.

I am going to try to refrain from ordering any more charts (outside of my subscription ones) for May and June.

Despite my best intentions I haven't got around to finishing the beading the "Sunflower Fairy" and I am running behind in my stitching on "99".  I hoping to get a least another page done this month.
I have pulled out another DUCJC2015 start this weekend and made significant progress on it so far.

Because I was so busy with Guiding things (it's cookie time) last month I forgot to post my TUSAL picture.  Better late then never.

Earlier this week my DH and I once visited the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa in Moose Jaw, SK.   We love it there so much we are making it an annual event.  This year we made a day trip to the town of Gravelbourg, SK - "A Touch of Europe on the Prairies".

My final picture is of my "Kentucky Derby Hat" I put together on Thursday for our (Girl Guides) Kentucky Derby themed Area Annual General Meeting and Dinner this coming Wednesday.  I used the hat from one of my bridal showers (it has been sitting at the top of closet for the past 29 years), a piece a ribbon and a bow from my stash and a few items I picked up from the dollar store.  I am quite pleased with the result.

Day Three (in Moose Jaw)

Above is the 'lovely" view that greeted us this morning!!!!!!!  That white stuff refuses to accept that it is SPRING!!!!!!

We had planned to drive to Regina for the day but decided instead to stay put.  I slept until 7 AM this morning and my DH didn't wake up until almost  9.  I think we needed to catch up on some much needed sleep.

We started off the morning again with a dip in the pool.   It was interesting being in the outside portion of the pool surrounded by a snow covered deck and trees and having the occasional snowflake come down on your face.  It was a wish come true for my DH.   He often talked about coming here in the middle of winter.

We went for a second dip in the pool later this afternoon,  after it stopped snowing.  It was heavenly.

The only stitching I did today was for a exchange so I have nothing to show.

Tomorrow, we are heading back home.  Alas, all good things must come to an end.   But we will be back.   We have been coming here every spring for the past 5 years.  We love it!!!!

Day Two (in Moose Jaw)

Today we got up bright and early. By early, I mean 5 AM. I don't know what it is about us but when we are on holidays we get up early.  When we have to go to work, it take us forever to drag our asses out of bed.

We started the day with coffee in our room and then a dip in the pool.   I thought we were the first ones in the pool but when we entered outdoor portion another couple was already out there.   They were early risers too.

Followed by breakfast and then back to the room for a nap. I also listened to couple of audiobooks - Bell, Book & Scandal by Jill Churchill (finished) and The Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follett (I am about half way through this 40 hr book.)  I am also currently reading The Snowman by Jo Nesbo.

Stitching wise I finished another motif in the Blue Jeans and Daises Mystery Sampler and finished Ewephoria by Mosey 'N Me.

In the afternoon we took a walk through the park that is across from the hotel.

After having dinner at Boston Pizza, we ended the evening with mimosas, 7-layer halva and another soak in the tub.

Right now we are experiencing a combination of rain and snow flurries.   I think it is time to go to sleep and hope it looks better in the morning.

Day One (in Moose Jaw)

After a long 9-hour drive (including a couple of pit stops)

It was time to relax,

  open a bottle of wine

 and eat some grub.

Followed by a some reading, a little stitching

and long soothing soak in the tub.

Now it is time to hit the sack!!!!!  Good night!!!!   I'll be back!!!!!!
