I Have a Another Finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

via GIPHY

Started this back in 2015 when it came out as Mystery SAL.  I only got this far when I put it away.

I decided to pull it out again for Bewitched Stitches' (Facebook) Summer of Salem SAL. Once I started stitching on it again, I fell in love with it.  So without further adieu here is the completed piece.

I also stitched another piece for the same SAL.  I started it during Stitch Maynia this year.  It is called Salem by VerbenaCS (Etsy).

The  stitched piece in the pocket watch is part of Lizzie*Kate's Nevermore.

The Spooktacular Boo Go called for 250 stitches yesterday and 300 today so I made significant progress on BBD's Away We Ride.  The house is almost done.  I should receive my GAST for the door in the mail next week.

Till next time!!!!

Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!!!!

Counting Stiches

via GIPHY

Do you count your stitches? I never did until last month after joining The Ultimate Cross Stitch Group on Facebook.  Which is quite surprising since I have always been a numbers gal. I was a bookkeeper for most of my working life and I always want to know how many km I walked or biked.  I also wear a Fitbit.

I am not counting all my stitches.  That would be too much for even me but I do enjoy having 1 or 2 focus pieces and seeing how much progress I can make on a chart just by adding 50 - 200 stitches daily.  As I mentioned before, last month I focused on Welcome Santa (a piece that had been sitting on my WIP pile for a few months) and just by following the daily stitch calendar provided by the Group I managed to get over 3000 stitches in and the next time I pick it up I can start on the border and the backstitching.

This month I am doing 2 counting challenges within the group.  I am once again doing the Every Day Counts S@L and my focus piece is Five Little Pumpkins by Petal Pusher.  I am 544 stitches as of today.

They also have an October event called Spooktacular Boo Go.  Every day from the 1st to the 24th a stitch count is revealed on "Boo Go" card and you have to stitch that amount on chosen piece and post a picture.  My chosen piece is Away We Ride by Blackbird Designs which is also a SAL and part of my Dark October stitching.

Yesterday was #witchywednesdayxs so I pulled out Early Witches and since I am so close finishing I worked on it again today.   All I have left to do is the border at the bottom and a little on the side.

Finally, I think somebody wants me to finish the Stoney Creek Halloween charts because when I spinned the wheel this morning, guess what?

Since the Early Witches will be done soon I will be moving it to work on Wednesdays.

Take Care and Happy Stitching!!!!!

Friday Off the Grid Party

One of the many Facebook groups I belong to is Friday Off the Grid - a weekly stitching party every Friday with Off the Grid Needlearts  - a Flosstube Stitch With Me video.

Today I stitched along with Caroline on the following:

Seasons in Chalk Art: Fall - Hands on Design (Artwork by Priscilla Blain) - Just Cross Stitch - October 2016

I also completed the Every Day Counts S@L for September - 3294 stitches.

This was my starting point on September 1st.

Welcome Santa - Debbie Mumm (Dimension)

And I added a few more stitches to Halloween Cat (Satsuma Street).

Even managed a bit of housekeeping and a few loads of laundry.😁

Ran out of time to post yesterday (my bed was calling me) but this is what I stitched on as decided by the Decision Roulette app:

These are a collection of 4 Pattern of Month charts from the Stoney Creek Collection released in 2015.  I am currently working on the 3rd chart.

They can be stitched separately or all together (which I am doing).  I plan to make it into a wall hanging with this for a hanger.

Well that is my update for today.  Good Night!!!!!!!!

Take care and Happy Stitching!!!!!!!!!

Day Three's choice is the set of Halloween themed charts from Stoney Creek. They were the May 2015 to August 2015 Pattern of the Month Series.

I am stitching all 4 charts on 1 piece of fabric (28ct Cashel linen - Tarnish from Picture This Plus) and will be hanging it on the following fabric holder.

For the rest of the week I will be working on a combination of Christmas and Halloween ornaments.
See you tomorrow.

Take care and happy stitching!

Goodies in the Mail

Received a lovely, big package of goodies in the mail today from Traditonal Stitches.

Lizzie Kate Mystery Sampler, including fabric and threads
JCS 2012 Special Collector's Issue Halloween

July SEP package - Quadrille I Chart from Freda's Fancy Stitching, Clip and Stick Mini
Needle Minder, Threadworks overydyed #12 Kreinik Braid
2010 Santa Ornament by Sandra Sullivan (Homespun Elegance)
30 ct Linen - Broomstick Brown (18 x 13.5)
40ct Linen - Flax (18 x 27

I can't wait to get started on the Mystery Sampler.  It looks really good so far.

I will have lots of time to stitch soon.  We are starting our holidays on Friday for two weeks.  We will go out to my Mom's cottage for the weekend and then come back into the city for a day before going out to the trailer.  I love spending our holidays out at the trailer.  There is a minimum of housework in a 28 ft trailer, so once I wash the dishes, made the bed and occasionally pull out the vacuum, I am free to stitch, read, knit, etc.

The weather was quite unusual this weekend.  Saturday was as hot as ever and then Sunday dipped below 20C with rain showers.  It was a welcome relieve after a week of temperatures in the low 30s all week.   The temperatures are suppose to be up in the 30's again by the weekend.

I spent most my time stitching for an Exchange partner so I can't show pics of that yet.  I did spent some time on It's Berry Time:

I also finished the Hearts of Canada - Alberta but I forgot it out at the trailer so I will have post a pic later.

Finished 2 more dishcloths also:

 Design: Summer Daze
Designer:  Sue Schaefer for Harvest Moon Designs

Design: Peacock in Color
Designer: Janet Nogle

Well that is it for now.  Take care and happy stitching!!!!!

I'm finished! I'm finished! I'm finished!

We spent one final week out at the trailer before we closed up for the season today :(.

As per usual, I had lots of time to stitch. After I finished stitching my piece for the Fall into Halloween Exchange at Stitched With Love Exchanges (I am sorry but I can't show any pics yet! Not until my partner receives it.), I finally was able to finish the Birds of A Feather Mystery SAL.  I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Here is pic of the finished piece.

Happy Stitching!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Tree Stocking

I finished the Christmas Tree Stocking earlier today. I just need to add a ribbon for a hanger. This isn't the greatest photo. It looks like I didn't trim the felt backing but I did. It must be angle I held the camera. (Edited to add: Like I thought, I didn't have enough of the #4 Braid 9194. I had to use some of my Stash. Thank goodness they supplied sufficient amounts of the Silk Mori or I really would have been upset.)

Christmas Tree Stocking - Kreinik Ornament of the Month

I forgot to mention yesterday that Missy included 2 packages of Candy Corn in my parcel that didn't survive long enough to be photographed. Despite the reports I constantly heard on the radio last week that Candy Corn is one of the top ten worst Halloween treats, I love Candy Corn.

Take care!!!!!

Time to Blog Again!!

Hope those of you that celebrate Halloween had a good one. We had about 70 children show up at the door. A good number but not as many as we use to get when we first moved into the neighbourhood 17 years ago. I believe our highest number was well over 140. It was quite a jump from our previous neighbourhood where we barely had 40.

My prize from Missy arrived earlier this week. I was a "good girl" and didn't peek so what I received was a surprise. In fact it turned out to be a total surprise. I forgot it was coming and when I saw the package on my front step, I couldn't figure out what it was. The return address was unfamiliar and it was too early for either of the Christmas Exchanges I am currently participating in.

I absolutely love my prize. The ornament is gorgeous. (If anyone is interested the chart can be found in Tis Hallowe'en by Blackbird Designs ) and the pincushion is so adorable (love the black with the red leaf). There is also a Halloween Pencil, a Vampire Lips pin and cute Halloween decorated magnets. Thanks again, Missy!!!!!!

A few weeks ago I joined a Fabric of the Month Club at Silkweaver's. I choose the Mini - FOTM#2 which consists of 3 9" x 13" pieces of hand-dyed 28 ct or 32 ct fabric. My 1st order arrived this week also.

The 2 in the back are 28 ct Opalescent Lugana Solos and the one in the front is called Winter Skye (32 ct. Lugana).

I am going to spend this weekend stitching ornaments. I have one more ornament to stitch for an exchange and I want to stitch a couple as Thank you gifts plus I need a few more for the family to chose from at Christmas.

I am a little frustrated with the Kreinik Ornament of the Month Kit - Christmas Tree Stocking I am currently stitching. I just had enough of the #4 Braid 203 Flame and I ran short of the #4 Braid 202HL Aztec Gold). Thank goodness I had a spool of the 202HL in my stash. I haven't finished stitching the sections calling for #4 Braid 9194 Star Green but I already checked my stash and I have a spool of that one also so I am okay if I run short.

Happy Stitching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess What !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I won the Day 5 prize on the 13 Days of Halloween give-Away. I am going to be a "good girl" and not peek at my prize. I want it to be a surprize, so I will patiently wait until it arrives in the mail. If you are curious, pop over to Missy's Blog and take a look. And if you haven't enter yet, why not now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't get as much stitching done as I would have like to (life!!!!!!) but I manage a few stitches in Welcome and I have 3 Christmas Ornaments on the go. One is a Mill Hill kit - Mouse King (I love the MH beaded kits) and 2 are from the 2009 JCS Christmas Ornament issue - Midsummer Night Design - Joy and Dragon Dreams - Spending Time Together.

I will try to post some pictures later this week.

T.G.I.F.

I am hoping to get some stitching done this weekend. Haven't had a chance to pick up the needle all week. I am going into withdrawal.

I am adding another UFO to my rotation now that I have finished the "Needleworker's Creed". It is Welcome (Small) from Mystic Sttich Inc. Below is a picture of my progress on it to date.

I also have a few Christmas ornaments to finish up. A couple are for some exchanges I am participating in and I need some more for Christmas gifts.

Before I go I just want to mention that it is Day 5 of the The 13 Days of Halloween contest. Check it out. Take a peek at the prizes (linked on the right).

Another Reminder

Just a quick note to remind you to enter the 13 Days of Halloween Giveaway. It is Day 3 of the Giveaway. Hurry on down!!!!!

10/20/2009

I am so proud of myself.................................

on the weekend I manage to change my blog into 3 columns without messing anything up, thanks to the very helpful instructions on The Cutest Blog on the Block website. It is so nice to have the extra sidebar space since I seem to be so addicted to making lists, collecting buttons, blinkies, etc.

I also have been looking at customizing my header. I did a little tinkering around today using a banner from TCBOTB. After Halloween I am going to try to come up with something different.

By the way, I want to remind everyone of the the 13 Days of Halloween Giveway on the Deep Inside Missy Blog. There is a draw every day from now until October 31st. The teasers are intriquing. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
