I'm In the Pink!!!!!!

A few weeks ago, I decided to participate in The Pink Scarf Project.  You can find information about it here.

So in between my various cross stitch projects, I have also been doing a little bit of knitting.

The top right is finished.   I used Loops & Threads Flaunt - Pink Cocktail.  The bottom 2 are WIPs using Bernat Boa - Chick (left) and Patons Lace Sequin - Quartz (right).  The top left is the yarn I will be using for a 4th scarf (ruffled) using Red Heart Boutique Sashay - Tutu.

I have never been a big fan of pink but as I knit more & more it is starting to grow on me. I may actually make one for myself.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

 

The temperatures started dropping this weekend and right now it is -29C (feels like -38C with the windchill).  Perfect weekend for IHSW.  I did have to work Saturday morning and we went out Sunday to a movie (Lincoln - excellent!!!!!) and dinner but I managed to finish up 2 LHN ornaments:

There were almost 400 participants and I visited a number of them over the weekend and I am still trying to visit them all (give me a week or two).

When I hopped over to Vicki's blog, I read about her Pink Scarf Project and decided it was something I would like to participate in.  I was going to Michaels after work I pick up some pink yarn started knitting the following:

The yarn is Patons - Lace Sequin and the pattern is a freebie from their website called Delicate Cables Scarf.

Early this month I finished 2 dishcloths and this weekend I started a third.

Very Productive Long Weekend

As least stitching and knitting wise. I didn't get much housework done (a little laundry, one bathroom and the kitchen - still need to vacuum).

Here is the scarf from the WhoDuKnit KAL in January. I am about halfway done.



This is the February KAL. Any guesses as to what it might be??????????????


This is the Mid-month KAL with the Monthly Dishcloth Yahoo! Group. I think it is a very interesting pattern.


This is the February KAL with Rachel's Knitting Room Yahoo! Group. Since the suggested colours were pink or red, I am wondering if it is Valentine related.

This is what I started on the Long Cardigan. I have got a long way to go!!!!!!!!

With respect to Cross Stitching I completed one ornament. This can be found here with a lot of other neat ones.

I also put a good dent into the 2 WIPs I a currently working on.

Started 2 Scarves this Weekend...................

and ripped them both out and restarted them again. I started the first one last night and ripped it out this morning. It is the January Mystery KAL with theWhoduknit Yahoo! Group. I joined the group too late for the KAL but I liked the pictures of the completed project some of the members posted so I decided to make one for myself. I am using Bernat - Berella"4" - Tapestry Ombre.



I love the colours in it. The reason I ripped it out is that pattern had me knitting in a way that was contrary to way I was taught. I was taught (by my mother who is an exceptional knitter) to knit the first stitch in a row from the back and to slip stitch the last stitch in the row. This makes
in our opinion a much nicer edge. The pattern called for the first stitch to be slipped and the last stitch to be knitted. I didn't like it so I started over.

The second scarf is the project I picked to go along with the book we are reading in the Whoduknit group - Birthright by Nora Roberts. I will keep the project a "mystery" until it is finished and I have revealed it to the group. The reason I started over on this one is that I read the pattern wrong. (O0ps!!!!!!)

Well, I wanted to get back to my stitching. I will post progress pictures of my cross-stitching and knitting by the end of the weekend. It's a long weekend. Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!
