Forgot a SAL

Hi All,

Yesterday, I forgot to post about another SAL I am participating in.  Probably because I only started it on Friday.  The hashtag for this one on Instagram is #storiesofthenorth1sal.   The design is by Ginger Gerald Design.

This was my progress as of Friday:

I first saw it the on a flosstube episode from Off the Grid Needlearts.  I loved it so much I had to order it.  Caroline was offering it for a limited time as part of the Evertote - Seagull Point Summer Kit.   Along with a PDF of the chart, I received the following cross-stitch project with a matching notions bag and

a set 4 gorgeous blue threads from Victorian Motto Shoppe:

The chart suggest 2 DMC blues but I am using the first 2 blue from the left.  They are called Caroline Calm and 6AM Sky.

Today, I thought I would also show some other Christmas Ornaments I finished this year that were not part of the Just Cross Stitch SAL.

The first is part of another tradition I started last year.  My DH does not embrace Christmas in the same way as I do.   Although he isn't a Scrooge, he doesn't revel in it. So last year I purchased the 2 Sue Hillis charts Bah Humbug and More Bah Humbug leaflets and have decided to stitch one ornament a year for him.

This is the one I did last year.  I love this one because it is reminiscent of the "Charlie Brown Christmas" trees we use to have before getting our artificial tree.  We refused to pay a fortune for a real tree that was going to end up in the trash after a couple of weeks.   I always felt that with lights and baubles any tree is beautiful.

These other ornaments are from charts by Homespun Elegance, Little House Needleworks and Country Cottage Needleworks.

From top left (clockwise):  Homespun Elegance - 2013 Sampler - Your State Holiday Home, Country Cottage Needleworks - Fa La La , Little House Needleworks - Merry Christmas, Country Cottage Needleworks - Let Us Adore Him and Country Cottage Needleworks - Merry, Merry

I will sign off with a picof what I did today that was non-stitching related.  I made pumpkin puree.  Enough for 4 pumpkin pies.  I 💖💖 pumpkin pie.

Take care and Happy Stitching!!!!

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccck!

As least I hope this won't be a false start and that I will continue to post on a more regular basis. I don't really know why I stopped, probably just a combination of "life" and laziness.

I wish you all the best of the season and I hope you are all doing well and that it continues to be so in the New Year.

I going to start with some of my finishes since my last post, way back when. Most of these have been completed within the last month. I didn't stitch much over the summer (another reason for not posting - nothing to show.)

I started the following back in January as part of the DUCJC 2015 (Debbie's Ultimate Crazy January Challenge 2015). I kind of stop working on it as the summer approached but at the beginning of November I took it with me to a craft camp which inspired me to finish which I did November 29, 2015. It is "99" by Ink Circles. I stitched it on the suggested fabric 32ct Ale from Picture This Plus. with DMC cotton.

One finish I did manage back in June is Tribal Maple Leaf © White Willow Stitching.

I stitched it with CC Fallen Leaves.

Some more recent finishes are 3 Christmas ornaments -  Snow Love & Christmas Cheer © Country Cottage Needleworks and Hallelujah © Little House Needleworks.

My final finish is one of the 2 charts in Harvest Hunt "Britty Kitties" © Brittercup Designs - Kitty on Pumpkin.  (I hoping to have the other one - Kitty with Ghosts - finished before hitting the sack tonight.)

Well, that is it for now.  I will be back soon with some WIP pics, some challenges for next year and hopefully some more finishes.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!

Thank you for visting!!!!

Day 51, 52 & 53: DUCJC2015 & IHSW

Busy, busy weekend.

I continued on with Debbie's Ultimate Crazy January Challenge 2015 (DUCJC2015) which tied in nicely with the International Hermit & Stitch Weekend (IHSW).

On Friday night (Day 51) I worked on Main Street Station, the 2nd chart in the LHN Hometown Holiday Series.

On Saturday (Day 52) I pulled out another LHN design - Patience - Little Sheep Virtues #7.

I also managed to finish up a couple of more Christmas Ornaments:

Pouty Owl © 2013 Stoney Creek Collection,Inc.

Mini Christmas Stocking Cat © Lynn B
And finally today (Day 53) I worked on another UFO/WIP - Monopoly © 1984 Parker Brothers, Inc (C&L Crafts & Co.)

(Just noticed but the first picture is a truer depiction of the fabric colour.)

I am very happy with what I managed to get done this weekend and very excited that we are now in the homestretch of the DUCJC2015 - just 6 more starts to go.  For the rest of the week I will be working on the LHN Little Sheep Virtues and on Saturday I will be starting a Lizzie*Kate Halloween freebie called All Hallows Eve.

Take care and happy stitching!!!

Day 23: DUCJC2015

Last night, after work, my DH and I went out to a play (Life, Death and the Blues - Excellent) so I decided to start a small MH kit called Peek-A-Brrr.  Before we left I had all the cross-stitching and just started on the beading.  We got home at 11 and decided to watch The Shining during which time I got most of the beading done.   This morning I completed the beading and finished it as an ornament.  (I made the hanger out of the left over bead.)

The kit calls it a Holiday Pin and was supposed to include a pin back, however there was only a magnet in the package.  But I always intended to make this into a Christmas ornament so it really didn't matter what was in the package.

I am not sure what I will be starting today.  I am tossing around 2 charts - Joy In The Journey (a Diane Williams design before she started Little House Needleworks) or Luna (Nora Corbett).  Come back tonight and see what I have decided on.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!!!

Thank you for visiting!!!!

Day 18: DUCJC2015

This is going to be a quick check-in as it is getting close to my bedtime.

As I mentioned yesterday, I decided to work on an UFO from 2013 Little House Needleworks Mystery Sampler - Song of the Season  today.   I really love LHN designs and I am looking forward to seeing this one completed. Below are before and after pictures of what I stitched today.

I also took time to finish 2 Christmas ornaments and 1 Halloween ornament.

Dear Santa © 2014 Country Cottage Needleworks

Halloween Tree designed by Michelle Lash of Brittercup Designs (2011 JCS Halloween Collection)

Winter Holiday Nutcracker Ballet - Prince © 2008 Mill Hill

That is it for now, take care and happy stitching.

Thank you for visiting.

All in all a very productive IHSW

The only plans I had this weekend besides stitching and reading is to pack away my Christmas decorations, so it was the perfect weekend for IHSW.

I managed to get a lot of stitching done and all my Christmas decorations are packed away for another year. First off, I finished the LHN complimentary pattern - Seven Pines and even finished it into an ornament.

While I had the sewing machine out, I finished the last  Becky Boo's Let it Snow snowman and L*K's Scary (from the 2012 Very Scary Mystery Sampler) into ornaments.

I also finished the 2nd Part of the L*K Holly & Hearts Mystery Sampler and made a start on Part 3.

I then pulled out another WIP from a few years back.  It is a Dimensions kit call Beary Merry Christmas!   It consists of 6 bear ornaments on plastic canvas.  I had 1 ornament finished already and now have started on the 2nd one.

Lastly, I started another LHN ornament - Pine Tree Inn.

I hope you all had a great weekend.  Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for visiting!!!!!!
