Catch Up Time Again!!!!

I was suppose to post pics of my finishes and my purchases for the month of April last weekend but alas life got in the way. I have time now to catch-up.

My 3 finishes for April that used to earn some SFS spending bucks are the following:

Page 3 of Ink Circles "99" (The first 2 pages were stitched within 6 months of purchasing the pattern so didn't qualify for money earned)

1999 Santa © 1999 Prairie Schooler

Bee Happy Featuring Holmsey Hare © G. French (Stitchers Anon) I finished it in April but only got around to mounting it on a keepsake box today.

The following are some of my purchases I made last month including the 3 charts are ordered out of fear that the may disappear before I got around to buying them.

I am going to try to refrain from ordering any more charts (outside of my subscription ones) for May and June.

Despite my best intentions I haven't got around to finishing the beading the "Sunflower Fairy" and I am running behind in my stitching on "99".  I hoping to get a least another page done this month.
I have pulled out another DUCJC2015 start this weekend and made significant progress on it so far.

Because I was so busy with Guiding things (it's cookie time) last month I forgot to post my TUSAL picture.  Better late then never.

Earlier this week my DH and I once visited the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa in Moose Jaw, SK.   We love it there so much we are making it an annual event.  This year we made a day trip to the town of Gravelbourg, SK - "A Touch of Europe on the Prairies".

My final picture is of my "Kentucky Derby Hat" I put together on Thursday for our (Girl Guides) Kentucky Derby themed Area Annual General Meeting and Dinner this coming Wednesday.  I used the hat from one of my bridal showers (it has been sitting at the top of closet for the past 29 years), a piece a ribbon and a bow from my stash and a few items I picked up from the dollar store.  I am quite pleased with the result.

That is it for now.  Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!!!

Another month has passed and it is time again for another TUSAL report. I have  another lovely pile of orts this month (this one includes a few sparkly bits of Kreinik) as I am still stitching up a storm trying to finish up my DUCJC2015 starts and WIPS.

If you don't know what the Totally Useless Stitch A-Long (TUSAL)is all about and want to know more, go here.

TUSAL: February

Another month, another New Moon, time for another TUSAL report.

I am still participating in Debbie's Ultimate Crazy January Challenge 2015 (DUCJC2015), so this month's contribution to my TUSAL jar is again quite substantial.   In among the various thread orts I have added some Aida strands from the fringe ornaments I made this month.

If you are not familiar with TUSAL go here for an explanation and join in the fun.

Take care and happy stitching!!!

DAY 20: DUCJC2015 & TUSAL

It is Day 20 and I am still at it.

Today, I started the Prairie Schooler 2001 Santa. I didn't get as much done as I would have liked (the frog made a little visit :( )  But as others have said, any start is a good start.

Today is also the first check-in for TUSAL. If you don't know what TUSAL (Totally Useless SAL) is,  go here for more information.

Below are pictures of this month's contribution.

Since I have been stitching every day for the Debbie's Ultimate Crazy January Challenge 2015  I have a sizable amount of orts to add to my jar today.  My jar contains several years worth of TUSAL orts.   I just keep pushing them down to make more room.

With respect to tomorrow's DUCJC2015 start, I will probably start another PS Santa.

Good night and Happy Stitching.

Thank you for visiting!!!

Weekend Update

I managed a little stitching this week.

First off I finished another Halloween Ornament:

 Babs & Boo
Designed by Lynda Watkins & Angie Williams
of Fresh Threads Studio
(2011 JCS Halloween Collection Book)

I also started a Christmas Ornament for another SCE exchange - Christmas Joy.  Sorry, no pics for the time being.

Last but not least, I started another Halloween Ornament.  This is my progress so far:

The design is called "Happy Owl O Ween".  Designed for Pumpkin Seed Stitchers by Needle Bling Designs - Theresa Curry & Brian Stugelmayer.

Finally, I haven't done a TUSAL update for a loooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggg time!  So here is my collection for the past few months.

Lots of green, black and orange for Halloween.  A little Kreinik blending filament and dishcloth yarn.
Well, I have to get back to my laundry and more stitching!!!!!!!
Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!!

Time to check-in!!!!

I don't know where the time has gone. All I know is that I haven't posted in quite awhile. Part of the reason for this is that I decided to do more exercising which has naturally eaten into my stitching time.  Not that I am complaining.  It was something I really needed to do.   The looooooooooooong winter was really getting to me and getting more active really lifted my mood.  Another benefit was to my left knee.  It was starting to give me pain and going up and down stairs was difficult but just after a week of using my stationary bike the pain had almost disappeared.

But now to my stitching.

I have managed a few small finishes.

Good Tidings © 2011 Little House Needleworks
Katie Kitty @ 2014 Brookes Books Publishing

St. Patrick's Day Cat © Lynn B (www.crossstitchingishappiness.blogspot.com)
and finally (an UFO from 2013).

Little Sheep Virtues - Peace © 2013 Little House Needleworks

I missed the WIPocalypse check-in on April 15th so here is my laaaaaaaaaaaaate report.  As I mentioned above I finished the Little Sheep Virtue - Peace.  I still need to finish the back stitching on the 3rd Bear from Beary Merry Christmas and I made some progress on the Little Sheep Virtue - Simplicity.

I also pulled out a couple of UFOs from previous years and added a few more stitches to each.

It's Berry Time - Blackbird Designs - Loose Feathers Pattern 37

Home of a Needlework - Little House Needleworks

and I started on the 2nd part of Just Nan/Charland Designs - Side by Side.

Last month's Wipocalypse topic was How do you keep your stash organized?  The organization of my stash is currently a work in progress.   I have a craft room that I am currently reorganizing.   It is in a real upheaval right now so no pics.   I have 4 or 5 binders in which I keep all the freebies I have accumulated over the years, full size leaftlets are stored in plastic file boxes and small charts and kits are stored in basket.  I have other storage boxes with fabrics, ribbons and trims, buttons and charms.  Floss is either stored in floss boxes, plastic baggies or hanging on peg board.   When I have completed the reorganization I will post a pic.   Below is a pic of some of sorting that I had on my DR table before Easter.

Lastly here is the TUSAL report I missed on April 29th.  It is not as much as previous months but it is still something.

Well that is it for today.   I will try to make it back sooner.  Take care and happy stitching.

Thanks for visiting!!!!!!

March TUSAL report

Since I am working on several projects and had a few finishes, my contribution to my TUSAL jar is again quite substantial. Once again there are some strands of yarn from a couple of knitted dishcloths I completed this month. (You can see my knitted dishcloths here.)

Totally Useless SAL

I haven't done TUSAL report in awhile so I have quite a pile to show for the first update in 2014. (If you don't know what TUSAL is, look here.)

Since the 2nd year of the TUSAL I have been collecting all my ORTS in the same jar (I threw them out the first year.) So I have once again pushed them all down to make room for this year's collection.

Thank you for visiting!!!!!!!!!
