Have you missed me!!!!!!!!!!

I have been on holidays with very limited internet access so I haven't posted any updates for awhile! We spent the time out at the trailer. The weather wasn't the greatest but I did manage to get lot of stitching done! I worked on three pieces:

Garden Fanstasy Mystery SAL © 2009 Pamela Kellogg

Peacock Tapestry by Teresa Wentzler

I added a new piece to my rotation. I had started it last year and felt like pulling it out again.

I also finished 3 ornaments. I will post pictures once I have finished putting them together.

Time For Another Update.................

although I haven't stitched much this past week.

I stitched a little quickie up on Friday for a "Movie Night" Gift Basket I made up for a silent auction we are holding at our Area (Girl Guides) Annual Dinner on Monday night. I found the pattern in the July 2006 issue of the The Gift of Stitching Magazine. I stitched it on 14 ct. brown paper and enclosed it in a magnet frame. The pattern called for JABC Popcorn buttons but I just stitched the popcorn.

Here is a picture of the basket I put together. It includes a 2 DVDs, a box of microwave popcorn, popcorn seasoning, a bag of M & Ms, a bag of red Twizzlers, a 6 pack of 100 cal Coke, and a $10 GC from Rogers Video. I was so excited when I found the popcorn bucket at the $ store a couple of weeks ago, it was just what I was looking for.

Part 3 of the PK Garden Fantasy Mystery SAL was released on Thursday. So now I am working Part 3 along Parts 1 & 2. Here is my progress to date.

I have one goal this year - TO ORGANIZE MY STASH!!!!!!!!!!!! To achieve that goal, I started adding my charts and Kits into The Stash Can on Thursday. Boy what an eye opener. I have barely scrapped the surface but I am already amazed at how much stuff I have. I have definately reached S.A.B.L.E. (Stash Accumulation Beyond Life Expectancy). I have also come across a couple of items that I have in duplicate. Since this is not the first time I have bought something twice, I am hoping that by using The Stash Can I will avoid doing it again. I want to spent my money on new stuff not something I already have.

Well, it's getting late.

Happy Stitching!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I told you I was weak. I signed up for the Papillon Creations Mystery SAL yesterday. I paid for both versions (it was cheap enough, I couldn't stand the thought of not having both) but I will definately be doing it with the specialty stitches. I am not sure what fabric I will be using - I will have to purchase something but I have decided to convert the DMC to silk threads. I checked out the site for VC silks and saw that they were offering a conversion but I since I have quite a collection of RG Splendor threads in my stash, I think that is what I will be using. I was perusing their conversion and colour charts a bit yesterday to decide on colours.

HOWEVER, I will not start this project until I finish one of my current projects.

I almost finished CWC's Winter Feeder. I just have a little bit of backstitching, a few french knots to make and some beads and charms to add. It should done before the end of this week.

I finished the ormanent I made for the NH SS exchange. It will probably won't be until December before I will post a picture. I don't want anybody to see it before my SS partner sees it.

Well that's it for tonight!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully next time I will have pictures to post.

Happy stitching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Winter's coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I predicted I didn't blog much over the summer, but I will be trying to do some more now that the temperatures are falling. We will be closing up the trailer in about 3 weeks and I will be home on the weekends. I have done quite a bit of stitching since my last post.

Here are some ornaments I have completed:

These 2 are member only freebies from San-Man Originals message board.

The following is one I stitched awhile back but only recently finished it into an ornament. It is from the The Cross Stitcher magazine (USA) - December 2002. There is a companion piece - a skater, that I still want to stitch.

A stitching friend is making a quilt for a friend of hers that is a reoccurance of breast cancer. I stitch this square for her quilt. It is a freebie from Painted Giraffe Stitchery.

The following is the September heart. Three more to go.

That is all my pictures for now. I will have some more in a day or two.

Time for an Update

Hi,

I haven't been around for awhile. Last weekend I went on a Crafter's Weekend. Most of the ladies I went with were scrapbooking but there was one lady who was quilting and another who was sewing a top for herself. One of my friends also brought her knitting along with her scrapbooking. I alternated between cross stitching and reading. I also brought some knitting but I forgot the needles.

The following are a couple of finishes I had made in the last couple of weeks. The first is a 2nd March Heart (Gencat). I gave away the first one in an Exchange so I made a second one. This time I replaced some of the motifs with Shamrocks. I think it turned out quite nice.

The 2nd piece is by Helga Mandl. I saw it featured earlier this week on her Yahoo! Group site (with Barbara Ana) and just had to have it. I bought it through Creative Poppy. You can download the pattern right after paying. I had to substitute the colours for the Grim Reaper. It called for SSS Witches Brew but I don't have a local source for SSS and I wanted to start stitching on it right away so I used WDW Tapestry. I also changed the colours at the bottom of the robe from DMC 209 to 550 and E211 to E3837. I am going to make it into a door hanger and hang in the trailer.

The following is an update on the "First Robin of Spring. I still have a bit to do on it.
