SAL Saturday

Today I decided to stitch on some of my current SALs.

First Up - Stories of the North, Part 1 by GingerGeraldDesigns (Etsy)

I am stitching it on 35ct R&R linen (I forgot the colour) using Victoria Motto Shoppe threads - Caroline Calm (pictured) and 6am Sky.

I then worked on Away We Ride (Blackbird Deisgns) and Halloween Cat (Satsuma Street).

Finally, in between the stitching, cleaning and making supper I also coffee dyed a piece of  fabric (light grey 36 ct linen) that I intend to use on a new start tomorrow.  I am very pleased with the results.  I soaked the fabric first for about 15 minutes in a bath of strong coffee (made with instant) and then baked it in the oven (250F) for about 20 minutes.

Take Care and Happy Stitching!!!!

Ready for Part 8

As I suspected I started to run behind with this SAL and only managed to get caught up today. Here it is with Parts 5, 6 & 7.

The specialty stitches used for the dividing bands in these sections are the Montenegrin Stitch and an Alternating Double Backstitch.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!!

Sew Advent 2013 - Day 4

Today we added some colour.  And surprise, surprise I am still keeping up.

I like the fact that the pattern uses some specialty stitches. So far we have done Long Arm Cross Stitch, 4-sided Stitch and Satin Stitch in the dividing bands.

Thank you for visiting!!!!!

I needed another SAL like I needed a …………………..

Well you know the rest.  But alas I just couldn’t resist the email sent by Carol of iStitch to participate in her Sew Advent SAL.  It is a 24 part band sampler that started today with a new band being sent out every day until the 24th.

I woke up this morning and the email with the 1st part was waiting for me.   Before I did anything else today, I stitched the 1st band up.

I am using 40 ct Newcastle Linen Flax and Needlepoint Silks colours – 991BB, 225 & 665.

Sew Advent SAL 2013

I am going to try and post every day as I make any progess on this SAL.

Is anyone else taking part in this SAL?  Are you doing it on 40ct or on a lower count?  Silk, DMC or ?????  I would loved to see what others are doing.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!!

I did it again!!!!!!!!!!!

Smiley I signed up for another SAL. This one starts February 15th and it for members of the Kustom Krafts Yahoo Group. There are actually 2 SALs but I decided to only do one (See I can show some restraintSmiley).

You can see pictures of the 2 SALs here. I will be stitching the Naptime Dragon.

I love pictures of Wolves but I have already stitched a couple of Wolf pictures (one of them being Timber Wolves - right picture) in the past and I have a couple in my UFO pile - Howling at the Moon and Northern Lights. I also have Night Eyes in my stash.

I really love the colours in the Naptime Dragon and I think I will finish it up quicker then if I start up another Wolf.

Valentine Finish

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am also participating in a Love Theme SAL for the month of February. Since I had a lot already going on I decided to pick a smaller project that I could finish up quickly. Well I started it last weekend and just finished it earlier this evening.
Dove Chart(February) designed by Jenny Barton

I want to get a couple of more small projects (Xmas ornaments and the June chart - Oakhaven Designs SAL) completed this week before I get back to stitching on the bigger ones. Wish me luck.

Some Finishes and someWIPS

I still going strong with the stitching. I started the 2 Snowman on Friday and finished them this morning. The first Snowman is called Silly Snowquake. The designer is Erynne Chard and can be found on her blog Be-stitched. She is the same person who designed the Snow Poem Tree.

The 2nd Snowman is the 1st part of a SAL(closed) currently offered by Tonia Pappan - Oakhaven Designs through her Yahoo! Group. I have decided to make them into individual pieces instead of one big piece.

I have made significant progress on Twas the Night Before Christmas since I first posted a picture of it. I am really loving this SAL(closed) and can`t wait to see the finished piece.

I have two more current WIPs. The first is the 2008 Christmas Freebie Winter Ornament from Passione Ricamo. Unfortunalely, it was only available for a limited time. I love the design.

This one is called Winter Feeder by Crossed Wing Collection - one of my favourite designers.

I am stitching this one as part of a Winter SAL that I am currently participating in at Needleworkers Haven.

Happy Stitching!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Snow Poem SAL

Hi!

I started a SAL with Sandy (San-Man Originals) and several other San-Man message board members on October 1, 2008. The design is called is called Snow Poem Tree by Erynne Chard. It is a very pretty design. I am stitching mine on 14 ct. black Aida using WDW Icicle.

I was busy last night with Girl Guide stuff but I did manage to get a few stitches in. I will post a progress pic later.

Happy stitching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
