iStitch 2013 Sew Advent completed

I finished the iStitch Designs 2013 Sew Advent on Sunday.

Since I finished it this year I changed the year at the bottom from 2013 to 2014.

In keeping with my resolve to finish up more of my WIPs/UFOs I pulled out the Lizzie*Kate Holly & Hearts Mystery Sampler Club that I was working on before Christmas. I have made a page listing my WIPs/UFOs. Although I am  up to 16 already, I still have a lot more to add. (Yes, I do have a serious case of startitis.)

This is where I am as of today.   I am almost finished Part Two.

I also finished the 4th Snowman from Becky Boo's "Let It Snow" today.  I will post a pic when I make it into an ornament.   My next ornament will be LHN's 2013 complimentary chart - Seven Pines.

Well that's my update for today.  Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!!!!!

iStitch 2013 Sew Advent SAL Day 8 -17

As I mentioned earlier this week I had to put the 2013 Sew Advent SAL on hold so I could finish up my Christmas ornaments. Well, I am back to stitching on it again and more than halfway through. I finished Day 17 and started on Day 18 a few minutes ago.

This is the whole sampler to date.

I have no stitching goals this year other than maybe finishing up a few of my many WIPs/UFOs.  The 2013 Sew Advent is one and I am also working on Becky Boo's "Let It Snow" © 2002 A Stitcher's Hands.

I have stitched 3 or the 4 snowmen to date.  I just need to finish the blue toque/green scarf one.  I'll be making them into ornaments for Christmas 2014.

Happy Stitching!!!!!

Ready for Part 8

As I suspected I started to run behind with this SAL and only managed to get caught up today. Here it is with Parts 5, 6 & 7.

The specialty stitches used for the dividing bands in these sections are the Montenegrin Stitch and an Alternating Double Backstitch.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!!

Sew Advent 2013 - Day 4

Today we added some colour.  And surprise, surprise I am still keeping up.

I like the fact that the pattern uses some specialty stitches. So far we have done Long Arm Cross Stitch, 4-sided Stitch and Satin Stitch in the dividing bands.

Sew Advent 2013 Update

I had to go to a potluck supper last night so I didn't have chance to finish part 2 yesterday. But I have now completed  Parts 2 & 3 and here is the results.

I am really enjoying this SAL and can't wait for the next part.

I needed another SAL like I needed a …………………..

Well you know the rest.  But alas I just couldn’t resist the email sent by Carol of iStitch to participate in her Sew Advent SAL.  It is a 24 part band sampler that started today with a new band being sent out every day until the 24th.

I woke up this morning and the email with the 1st part was waiting for me.   Before I did anything else today, I stitched the 1st band up.

I am using 40 ct Newcastle Linen Flax and Needlepoint Silks colours – 991BB, 225 & 665.

Sew Advent SAL 2013

I am going to try and post every day as I make any progess on this SAL.

Is anyone else taking part in this SAL?  Are you doing it on 40ct or on a lower count?  Silk, DMC or ?????  I would loved to see what others are doing.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!!
