I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccck!

As least I hope this won't be a false start and that I will continue to post on a more regular basis. I don't really know why I stopped, probably just a combination of "life" and laziness.

I wish you all the best of the season and I hope you are all doing well and that it continues to be so in the New Year.

I going to start with some of my finishes since my last post, way back when. Most of these have been completed within the last month. I didn't stitch much over the summer (another reason for not posting - nothing to show.)

I started the following back in January as part of the DUCJC 2015 (Debbie's Ultimate Crazy January Challenge 2015). I kind of stop working on it as the summer approached but at the beginning of November I took it with me to a craft camp which inspired me to finish which I did November 29, 2015. It is "99" by Ink Circles. I stitched it on the suggested fabric 32ct Ale from Picture This Plus. with DMC cotton.

One finish I did manage back in June is Tribal Maple Leaf © White Willow Stitching.

I stitched it with CC Fallen Leaves.

Some more recent finishes are 3 Christmas ornaments -  Snow Love & Christmas Cheer © Country Cottage Needleworks and Hallelujah © Little House Needleworks.

My final finish is one of the 2 charts in Harvest Hunt "Britty Kitties" © Brittercup Designs - Kitty on Pumpkin.  (I hoping to have the other one - Kitty with Ghosts - finished before hitting the sack tonight.)

Well, that is it for now.  I will be back soon with some WIP pics, some challenges for next year and hopefully some more finishes.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!

Thank you for visting!!!!

Catch Up Time Again!!!!

I was suppose to post pics of my finishes and my purchases for the month of April last weekend but alas life got in the way. I have time now to catch-up.

My 3 finishes for April that used to earn some SFS spending bucks are the following:

Page 3 of Ink Circles "99" (The first 2 pages were stitched within 6 months of purchasing the pattern so didn't qualify for money earned)

1999 Santa © 1999 Prairie Schooler

Bee Happy Featuring Holmsey Hare © G. French (Stitchers Anon) I finished it in April but only got around to mounting it on a keepsake box today.

The following are some of my purchases I made last month including the 3 charts are ordered out of fear that the may disappear before I got around to buying them.

I am going to try to refrain from ordering any more charts (outside of my subscription ones) for May and June.

Despite my best intentions I haven't got around to finishing the beading the "Sunflower Fairy" and I am running behind in my stitching on "99".  I hoping to get a least another page done this month.
I have pulled out another DUCJC2015 start this weekend and made significant progress on it so far.

Because I was so busy with Guiding things (it's cookie time) last month I forgot to post my TUSAL picture.  Better late then never.

Earlier this week my DH and I once visited the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa in Moose Jaw, SK.   We love it there so much we are making it an annual event.  This year we made a day trip to the town of Gravelbourg, SK - "A Touch of Europe on the Prairies".

My final picture is of my "Kentucky Derby Hat" I put together on Thursday for our (Girl Guides) Kentucky Derby themed Area Annual General Meeting and Dinner this coming Wednesday.  I used the hat from one of my bridal showers (it has been sitting at the top of closet for the past 29 years), a piece a ribbon and a bow from my stash and a few items I picked up from the dollar store.  I am quite pleased with the result.

That is it for now.  Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!!!

Catchup Time!

If you read my earlier post you will understand why I didn't feel like posting last weekend.  However, throughout this difficult time I did continue to stitch. It was a great help and now I am ready to post an update.

First off, I finished another Christmas ornament.

I also made further progress on "99" and the Sunflower Fairy.

Only 60 more bottles to go.

I have finished all the the stitching (including the back stitching) and now I am ready to add the beads.

My goal for next weekend is to have all the beading done on the Sunflower Fairy and to complete 6 more bottles of beer on "99".

I am also currently stitching a free chart from Stitchers Anon Facebook page - Holmsey Hare's Haven.   It is called Be Happy and features Holmsey Hare next to a Daisy.  I stitching it in memory of my MIL who enjoyed life to the fullest and always had a smile on her face.   Her favourite flower was a Daisy.

Here is my progress to date:

I am stitching it on a piece of light green opalescent evenweave.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!!!!!

Weekly WIP update

Good Evening!!!

I am still plugging away on the 3 WIPs from the last weekend. Below are progress pictures of "99" and the "Sunflower Fairy". I am almost finished with the PS "1999 Santa" so I will wait until it is finished before posting a picture.

As I was stitching on the "Sunflower Fairy", I discovered a couple of counting mistakes. In order to correct them I would of had to do some major frogging so I decided to fudge it a bit with just a little bit of frogging. The mistakes are not so glaringly obvious that it bothers me as some errors have, so I won't worrying about them anymore.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!

And the Stitching Continues..............

This week, besides making further progress on "99" and  the "Sunflower Fairy", I also added  my Day 22 start - PS "1999 Santa" - to my rotation.

This is a really fun stitch and I am so glad I made it one of  my new starts in 2015.  I have "81" bottles left to stitch.

Next to Nutcrackers, Santas are one of my favourite themes to stitch for Christmas.   I especially love the PS Santas.

This is another fun stitch for me.  This week I managed to finish the 2nd wing and add a few more petals to the Sunflower.

Take care and happy stitching!!!!

DUCJC2015 WIPs UPDATES

I decided to finish with the DUCJC2015 at the end of February. Some diehards are still going strong into March but I want to get a few more finishes under my belt before I start anything new.

On Day 17 of the DUCJC2015 I started "99" by Ink Circles. It is for my husband and I am hoping to get at least one beer bottle stitched each day so that in little more than 3 months I will have it all ready to frame.  I am down to "89 bottles to go".

The "Sunflower Fairy" by Nora Corbett was started on Day 3.  I made a pretty good start on it initially and have managed to make more of a dent this past week. I have changed the colour of the wings from 014 Sky Blue (Kreinik #4 Braid) to 3215 Peridot. I just didn't like the blue colour.

That is my update for this week. Take care and happy stitching!!!

Day 17: DUCJC2015

"99 bottles of beer to stitch, 99 bottles of beer.
Stitch one up and what do you got, 98 bottles of beer to stitch."

I had a really good time stitching on this one today and I am looking forward to continue on it in the future.    I am stitching it for my husband for his 'man cave'!

Tomorrow I will be working on a UFO from 2013.  It is a Mystery Sampler from Little House Needleworks called Song of the Seasons.

Take care and happy stitching!
