April WIPocalypse Check-In

Wow, I can't believe another month has passed and tomorrow will be May 1st.

I am a couple of days late with this check-in but I have busy with Guiding stuff and finally getting around to filing my Income Tax (I can be such a procrastinator sometimes).

Everything is done and Stitchmaynia 2019 doesn't start until tomorrow so I have time now to check-in.

I finished a few projects (albeit small ones) this month

Since I just got notification that my partner has received her April ATC I will post a picture now that I couldn't post last month.

Afternoon Tea - Lynn B (Happinessiscrossstitcing.blogspot.com)

My first finish this month was Night Sky Bear by Stitches Lovers (Etsy)

I also finished three Christmas ornaments (my favourite thing to stitch).

Winter Collection - Ye Old Santa - Mill Hill

Santa's Hat & Boots - Keslyn (2018 JCS Christmas issue)

I really love how the Hat's & Boots turned out.  I made the trim by doing a zig-zag running stitch on the ribbon and gathering it together.

Penquin #2 - Vee and Company (this is the 2nd one I have done this year)

I also finished the May Card for the Cross Stitch Card & ATC SAL but I will wait until next month to show it.

I managed a few more stitches on The Elizabeth Hancock Sampler - Little House Needleworks and (edited) Alice in Wonderland (Bothy Threads).

(excuse the dog hair - I didn't notice until I took the picture)

and succumbed to a bout of  startitis and pulled out Nature's Beauty - Little House Needleworks.

This month's question is to talk about my oldest WIP/UFO.  My is Peacock Tapestry by Teresa Wentzler.  I started sometime in the 1990's.  I love it but the back stitching is holding me back. One day I will finish it.

Edited:  I forgot one of my Christmas ornament finishes:  Snowbells: Jingles - Mill Hill (Debbie Mumm)

Well, that is it for this month.

Take care and Happy Stitching!!!

  1. So many lovely pieces stitched on and/or finished this past month. The bear is really effective, and who can't help but love the little Mill Hill snowman or the upside down penguin?! I agree about the ribbon as an effective way of creating a border around a finish and is something I'd like to do more often, although I haven't yet tried a zig-zag stitch to create the gathers. :)
